RUG HOOKING Week at SAUDER VILLAGE

Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village
General Information
Recognized as one of the top rug hooking events in the country, the 2013 Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village will again be a spectacular celebration of this traditional craft. Rug hookers from across the country will soon travel to northwest Ohio to enjoy hundreds of hooked rugs on display, workshops, lectures, vendors and special exhibits.
Special Exhibit “iView”…
We live in the world of “I” (iPods, iBooks, iPads, iPhones, etc.). It’s how you post, text, Facebook, blog, forum,  tweet the rug you are working on or just finished.

16 artists (U.S. Canada, &  abroad) have brought the 2 worlds together into a collection of 64 pieces representing an assortment of hooking & fiber art techniques; each created 4 pieces.

Linda Rae Coughlin, project coordinator, well known for gathering artists & creating unique textile art exhibits, will talk about this project & the techniques during the Thur. Gallery Talk.

Not sure who did this  box above . . . .
but
I am one of the Canadian artists taking part in this exhibition . .
it was great fun and my pieces  are a combination of  rug hooking, dyeing wool for my rugs. . . knitting. . . . .printing on fabric. . . .sewing  . . .with a machine embroidery and a  hooked  Art Trading Card  size  2" X 3.5" in 2 of the boxes as pictured below . . . . .
Both my boxes here are on a base of dyed wool 4" X 6" that I use for hooking my rugs.

The 4 wooden shadow boxes were a certain size  (approximately  8" X 10")with each  piece done to be size  4" X 6" mounted inside each of the 4 boxes which are displayed in a group .
Art work could be either horizontal or vertical or a combination of both.
-4 Boxes displayed together  for each artist . . . . . . .
