ANTIQUE RUG REPLICA

Back to rug hooking . . .
ROPE rug has a new home . . . . although I usually hook rugs  for the floor-upon placing this rug on my lime olive  floors -it was not at all interesting -it was ugly-
My next rug was to be a bench rug as a rug is so wonderful and cozy to sit on . . .not just for cats . . ..
so I placed it on the bench and voila!
Perfect to go with the old upolstery green pillows!

This  rug was a version of an old antique I bought long before I hooked myself . . .
After discovering it in the garage one spring morning  . ..  covering the engine of my husbands treasured  old 1952 silver roadster  JAGUAR . . .which I was allowed to drive once a year . . .on MOTHERs DAY . . .
it was  falling apart . . .not even worthwhile nor really possible to repair  . . .I had always loved the pattern-a traditional quilting motif . . .so I decided to enlarge it and hook a new one trying to be as true as possible to the old one . .. .of course it took on a new life  and here it is . . .sitting by the sea on my  morning spot . . . .
